INDONESIAN YOUTH JUDGEMENT DAY
UN, not the abbreviation of United Nation as the world society recognize, is one of the most well-known national event in Indonesia. It is the time when the students of this country deal with their final destiny. The days which will determine their, lets say "future". The three days of their last school time that measure their accomplishment of their last three years of study of several major subjects tested.
"Ujian Nasional" or The National Final Exam is held in different certain times for each level. The sequence which lasts in a three-months row usually starts with the UN for the higher level (SH level). Within the next 30 days, the event will continue for the lower level (JH level) and it will end with the UN for the lowest level ( Elementary level). The Government's Policy, however, in this case the National Education Ministry, may change the scenario of the exam each year.
There are wide discussion and controversy upon the ongoing of the system. Many people from many background inside and outside the education give different opinion about holding this kind of test to measure the students accomplishment and to decide whether a student is considered to be qualified enough to continue to the next education level.
Lets put aside those debate among parties about the UN's competence. We are here anyway, so just have to do best to get what we have already set for our future.
